As opioids continue to challenge municipalities and communities, the role of data and analytics has never been more critical as a powerful tool in the fight against this epidemic. The SUDA platform represents a significant advancement in the Commonwealth of Virginia's data capabilities and is a strategic initiative aimed at providing secure access to integrated data analysis across state and local partners.

The goal of SUDA is to enhance the Commonwealth’s ability to make informed decisions and implement effective interventions. By leveraging the power of integrated data, SUDA will support initiatives like Right Help, Right Now and It Only Takes One campaigns, further strengthening the Commonwealth’s collective efforts to fight the opioid and substance use epidemic.

In Spring and Summer 2025, ODGA launched its first-ever Data Governance Maturity Contest — a competition for Commonwealth Data Trust members to measure their progress with their data governance programs.
